Got a question about technology? Ask it here. Discussion of hardware, software, TiVos, multi-region DVDs, Windows, Macs, LINUX, hand-helds, iPods, anything tech related. Better than any helpdesk!

Is there a Twitter app (desktop and iPhone) that can remember where you stopped reading and sync between both platforms?
I like Tweetie but it only remembers the last thing I read on the desktop, and not on the phone. I want to be able to switch back and forth. (The other factor that complicates things is at work where I can't install anything so I just use Twitter.com...any way I can sync between the site and a desktop/mobile app?)
Echofon and Tweetdeck both advertise syncing between phone and client (disclaimer: I like one on the phone and one on the computer, so I've never actually used the sync feature), but I doubt you could incorporate things you've read on the twitter website in any client.
Excel is fucking with me again.
One of my spreadsheets mysteriously turned itself read-only last week. No biggie, we saved-as to make a writable copy and kept going.
Now I'm trying to delete this file and it won't even let me do that!
I'm running a locked-down XP and Office 2007. Any ideas?
Are you sure you don't have a ghost file open? Did you go to task manager and look at "processes" instead of just "applications"?
Aha!
I don't have any Excel processes running at the moment, but since the file is on a shared drive, *somebody* must. I will find out who it is and make them shut it down.
Anyone have some Python for Absolute Beginners (bom bom ba-oooo) book/tutorial recommendations?
