Yeah, Kindle browsing, not so great. I don't think it was made painful intentionally, though: e-ink feels like the culprit.

I just hacked my Kindle to be able to read non-DRMed ePub books, so I've used the browser to explore google books a little bit. It works, but it's definitely worth knowing exactly what to search for before launching its browser.

When I'm standing around the cold kitchen, though, I just pull out the iPhone. I can check b.org and e-mail, and the NYT app is quite nice.

Is there anyone around that I can ask a stupid question about Word charts? I am trying to figure out how to do one thing that should be fairly easy, but I can't get it.

I take it that "make it in Excel, then cut and paste" is not a solution? When you past, you can insert as static file or as a display that is linked to worksheet.

For years, I've offered a way to buy services and schedule appointments online. It turns out that it's a RARE occasion that anyone actually uses the service.

I've decided to pitch the product as a cost cutting measure, but would still like to make it possible for people to use their credit cards.

I don't need fancy, as people generally only purchase one item at a time, but I do have 7 products featured. This year, I'd like to add some event fees, so the number could go up.

Has anyone used the free paypal shopping cart, or any other that can be recommended?

Ok, this is so cool. Joe is gone and Ellie is downstairs watching TV while I get Frisco to sleep upstairs. She came up, asking for a new movie and it occurred toe that I could use the Remote function on my iPhone to turn it on for her. So cool!! I have no idea why this never occurred to me before.

Imogen Heap wears Twitter dress at the Grammys... Say hello to our new creation: after video dresses and laser dresses here is one that connects Imogen to her fans directly via Twitter. When Imogen walked the red carpet to collect her Grammy, fans could send messages and photographs directly to her dress. The messages scrolled across the collar while the images were displayed on her Fendi handbag. How does it work? The Fendi bag contains an iPod Touch that receives the messages (thanks to Memo Akten for programming this). It displays the pictures and passes the text on to a flexible LED display in the collar.

I was trying to add a new hard drive to my computer tower couple of days ago (and had to get a mounting bracket to put it in the media bay on account of there being no more room in the hard drive slot), and in the process, I must have mangled something -- now, it's not even booting, and the computer is giving me this scary three-tone noise. One long beep followed by two short beeps. Googling it makes it sound like a RAM problem. I had to pull out the memory stick to get it out of the way for the hard drive insertion then put it back, and something must have gone wrong there. I tried other memory stick slots on the motherboard, making sure it's properly inserted and everything, but I get the same three-beep noise every time.

I've ordered replacement RAM sticks, but my big worry is that it's not the memory, but the motherboard. Does motherboard problem result in the beeping noise like i described?
