But then the KNOW might result in the WANT....
I happened across the price for the processor I upgraded to this fall. Oddly, it was $60 more than what I paid. Out of curiosity I checked out the SSD drive I upgraded with and it's $50 more than what I paid. So that's $110 more than the about $400 I spent on upgrading. It's weird to have prices for stuff like that go up, and I'm amazed my timing was that good.
Not sure about the processor, but there must be a supply issue with flash memory.

Hmmm. I wonder which company is hoarding all the flash memory...
I do have a question. A new computer is currently a long term fantasy. But when I do get it I want to deal with some disability issue. The setup I have at least does not cause intense physical pain. But I still end up hurting and worn out ofter a long session. When I use my netbook lying down, not so much physical strain, as long as I just browse, but if I try to type more than a paragraph on the tiny keyboard, immense pain. (That is also true with a larger notebook that is my main computer, and has a nearly fullsize keyboard. ) I need a very specific size and and layout in my keyboard, one that is not going to happen in any notebook or netbook.
When I try to attach a real keyboard to either computer, the built in keyboards put the screens too far away, and still causes a strain.
So here ia thought. What if, some time in the future I get a tablet computer and then attach a keyboard ? No built in keyboard to move the screen too far from the keyboard while lying down. And what I'm really wondering is how I can test it. Most stores around here don't allow returns of a computer without a restocking fee.
TB, have you seen those computer stands that let the computer come close to you even with a full keyboard?
Or do you need the screen closer still?
I haven't seen them. Would they be usable lying down? Cause if they look like they might work, not being electronics I'm sure I could find someplace with a generous return policy. And if it worked I would keep it, cause a stand is whole lot cheaper than a new computer, and even when this one finally goes, a standard laptop is cheaper than a tablet.
By "lying down" I mean lying on my stomach so I can type.
I wonder which company is hoarding all the flash memory...

I bet SkyNet or its precursor is monitoring this thread. Now all because of dcp, the first thing Skynet will do when it takes over the world is kill Enid Strict (a.k.a. The Church Lady.)
Oops, I just told SkyNet her real name....
