Our wings are not tired

I've been using Macs since the Mac 128 and Apples since the Apple II+. I've also been using PCs since the 8088 processor and had a CPM machine that was house in a case built from plywood that used an 8" floppy drive.

As for laptop screens I'm a total size queen. I adore my 17" with the HD screen. You can never have too much screen real estate. I now dream of adding a 30" Cinema display as a second monitor on the 27" iMac.

You can't leave me to my own devices; my devices are Nap and Eat. -Zenkitty

We had a first gen Mac, way back in 1984.

And, like Drew, we were using Apple IIs before that.

Our wings are not tired.

Know, I know you guys go way back. But I hear MacSnob every day from people who didn't discover them until iPods and iPhones.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

I'm not a MacSnob. I did use Macs a lot during my undergrad studies, though (mostly from about 1999, really). I would love a Mac, but the prices are ridiculous. So we keep using PCs.

Yup. With the OS loaded on a floppy. Good times.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I am a Mac snob. I try not to be, but all the trouble I've had in the past with PCs (I don't even like to think about Windows ME) is akin to my utter loathing for Ford cars and subsequent undying loyalty to Toyota.

Plus, I've used Apples since the late 80s, so I'm thoroughly inculcated.

That said, I've heard a lot of good stuff about Windows 7, which is cool.

Coding and Sleeping

I'm more of an upgrader and maker of spare-part computers so Macs are pretty much a no-go. I do have a Mac now, but being a G5 iMac it's been left behind.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Since the Intel-based mac era, you can make a Mac out of spare parts a lot easier, ala the OSX86 project.
