Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Rumors explode about what to expect from Apple next week

I have a hard time believing it's going to be anything other than a niche luxury device like the Macbook Air.

In my dream world, I have an Apple Tablet in the kitchen for reading recipes, etc.

I had not seen that! It's so cute! And it totally matches our kitchen.

Which is a stupid reason to want one but I suppose no more stupid than, "if I were rich, I would spend a grand on a fancy screen for my recipes."

Coding and Sleeping

Rumor is that it will cost close to $1000, so I have a hard time believing it's going to be anything other than a niche luxury device like the Macbook Air.

I can see having a charging dock that sits it up. A wireless keyboard and mouse and you have something you can use for occasional traditional computing and tote it around the house for other stuff with less bulk than a laptop. I dunno.

Our wings are not tired.

Okay, I have doled out my old personal laptops and finally purchased a new one (arrives tomorrow). I also bought a replacement iPod (160 gig). I have a ton of music on a portable hard drive.

Here's where I need your help. iTunes has always pissed me off because no matter what tricks and tips I learned from the web and you guys, when I am playing an album, the songs aren't in the right order. It's bad enough for regular music albums, but impossible when it's a musical because, duh, the song order in a musical is pretty important.

So I've got about 2/3 of my 500 or so cds already sitting on the portable drive, and I was hoping to be able to salvage that when I organize the new laptop and iPod. BUT, I am willing to record everything all over again if I have to, in order to get the damned music in the correct album order. I may be asking prematurely since I don't have the laptop yet, so can't test anything, but I am hoping that your wisdom will give me peace of mind before then.

Ultimately I am excited about having all music in iTunes and being able to finally put some music on my (work)iPhone, ex-housemate's iPod (my old iPod is going to him) and my new one.

Due to various reasons, I've not been able to update or sync my iTunes since I moved last February.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I don't have iTunes on hand, java, but what order did they play in if shuffle was off?
