I have a problem with my MacBook Pro and I have given up trying to find help at the Apple site.
Just a few days ago, I noticed that the little light on the power cord wasn't on or as bright as it used to be, and that the battery wasn't charging anymore. I checked the info in the System Profiler and it says it is good and not dying, but it is not charging.
I'm at a loss. I usually run the computer with the power cord, but I want that battery there for in case.
Any ideas?
quester,
try this:

that should give you more detailed info about your battery.
Thanks, le nubian.
According to coconut my capacity is at 92%. I can't figure out why it's not charging.
The cord works to power the computer. I'm stumped.
Do you mean plug the computer into a new socket or put the mag plug into another port on the computer?
use the plug in a new socket in the wall and see if there is any difference. I heard of mag plugs going kaput, but I'm not sure if that is your situation yet.
I have tried several different sockets. No change. Alas.
You didn't by chance accidentally switch your power adapter thingie with one from a MacBook, did you?
If it's powering your computer when attached, I'd start to suspect the battery or the charger.
The battery appears good, I don't know how to check the charger.
