So, if you were asking your job to buy you a netbook, which would you choose and why? Price IS a consideration.
I like the HP Mini line - they're very sleek and have nice keyboards.
Got a question about technology? Ask it here. Discussion of hardware, software, TiVos, multi-region DVDs, Windows, Macs, LINUX, hand-helds, iPods, anything tech related. Better than any helpdesk!

Of those, my Brother has the MSI Wind with an extra life battery, and it's pretty heavy for a netbook. I found it felt smaller than my HP, even those they are suppose to both be 10.1"
I like my HP except that it only had a 3 cell battery (and short battery life), and it also has a very annoying AC adapter that does not fit snugly into it's slot. I constantly have to keep pressing it in and even the slightest movement will cause it to become disconnected. Otherwise I love the speed, size and keyboard of my HP netbook, but I think I would look elsewhere had I known how irritating the plug would be. Mine was a refurb, and cost only $230 CDN.
I love my Asus. The six-cell battery has plenty of juice for what I need, and I'm glad I got the larger screen. The one thing that still throws me is the smaller keyboard, but it's only a minor irritation.
Oh yeah! 10 out of 10, bay-bee!
Me too!
(actually, some I got through process of elimination, and I wasn't 100% of the telephone/ethernet one).
The clues to that one were the flat cabling (not necessarily, but in general not as common for non-telephonic uses) and the number of pins.

I tried to count the pins. I counted five, and I figured phone plugs have two or four wires. (When I saw that I had it wrong, I remembered that Ethernet has 8 wires.)
Perhaps I need to take a remedial counting class.
I am using my Asus right now, and it's pretty darn cool. My sister has one too, which is a few months/newer generation from mine, and it's nicer because the bottom is flat? Mine bulges out a bit...
I got 100% on the quiz. Did it on the iPhone and didn't realize there were text hints until the last couple. Didn't bother reading them. They should have had some tough ones like an NL4 connector or an Elco or something like that. Even a BNC connector.
I got a 100% as well. I was surprised it was only 10 questions. They had XLR as an answer, so I was hoping they would have some as the question. The only one I hesitated on was the last, but decided it was phone. I couldn't count all the conductors easily, but realized it was squarish, and that ethernet would have been wider.
The netbook I'm considering is this one (amazon link), an Acer. It's got dual-core Intel SU7300, 4GB of memory, HDMI, etc. It's right around 3 lbs w/o the charger.
Matt, the warning I got about Acer was that making any changes, including upgrading memory, voids the warranty. That was true when I was looking at netbooks almost a year ago --- don't know if it's still true now.
