I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

It was working earlier today, so someone clearly broke something. I'm just surprised it broke in Firefox.

I guess I need to escalate this. I was hoping it would magically fix itself.

And yeah it looks fine in IE. So you have a browser specific issue. Interestingly enough I see the same problem in an old version of Opera. So I wonder if you have IE specific code in there.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

There's code in there designed to make it work with IE6. (I know, I know. We all know. Argue with the client.) I just don't know what they might have been working on today to break it. And it would have to happen when our web person is out sick.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

And I just made a developer go "Ooops."

Thanks, guys.

Vortex, do you mind deleting the screencap? I'd like to try and keep things on the DL, especially since I have so little chance to ever use the phrase "on the DL."

No prob. I'd already deleted the file, so the link is dead, but I will delete the link in the post.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

We have an extranet site here that's not just IE6 only, it's XP only. As in, if you upgrade to Vista you're on your own, please don't upgrade to Windows 7. I'm not sure what all they put in the code to make it do that.

Steph,

what kind of Nokia phone do you have? I have a Nokia phone and the times I need to get on the Internet with the Touch, I fire up Joikuspot and I get wireless if I have a 3G connection.

Is it common for something to work in IE but not Firefox?

Very. Depending on your attitude about standards, it's either a bug or a feature, but IE will try to render bad code, while most other browsers will throw up their tiny little hands. On the other hand, there are some convenient styles IE won't pay any attention to, and IE and Firefox render certain kinds of widths differently. In response, I curse a lot.

Ahh. I did know that. It just looked so good in IE, it was hard to tell anything was funky.

There was such an exclamation of dismay around here when we heard the site would have to work in IE6.

anybody else having Facebook issues right now? I can't get to my inbox in Firefox, and IE is telling me that it can't find the page at all. It could be the craptastic work internet, so I thought I'd check.
