Where'd they get CAT scan from?... I mean, did they test it on cats? Or does the machine sort of look like a cat?

Our wings are not tired.

I think someone else asked about printer/all-in-ones recently too. I have the HP C7280 all-in-one and like it just fine! I have it set up wirelessly too, which is nice. And the bonus is that I recently had problems (out of the blue) with a memory card in my cameras (after taking a bunch of photos all night, woke up to the camera not being able to read the card). Out of curiosity and desperation, I stuck the memory card into the slot on the printer and the printer could read it just fine. Put it back into the camera and the camera could suddenly "see" it too. Voila!

I bought the pretty highly reviewed HP Photosmart Plus for $110 at Office Depot yesterday. I can't really give you a review yet. It doesn't fax, but I think there's one for not much more that does. I started online faxing after the fax on my last all-in-one got a bit unreliable.

I've got an HP 7780 and 7680. They are both excellent. They are network aware, quite fast and do good color. They also have high capacity in tanks available. They are typically not cheap though. I think they may have a new model replacing them about now as well. They use the 88XL cartridges which I have good luck finding at Costco in multipacks for a decent price.

Coding and Sleeping

I have an HP Photosmart D5360 that works well. It also does duplex printing and prints on printable CD-Rs. It's pretty nice.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Heh. I have the 7680 as well. But I have my laptop security cranked down so hard it doesn't actually acknowledge any information coming from the printer, which negates its usefulness as a scanner or photo card reader. I need to sit down and tinker at some point, because it works just fine for the SO on the same network with the same OS.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Why so much security on the laptop? Do you travel with it a lot? Is it exposed?

Yeah, I do, and kiddoes use it from time to time. Also, I'm paranoid. But I need to dial it back because really, there's not enough danger in all the digital world for where it's set now.

I don't know, but I now have to sign in to Yahoo mail any time I navigate away from the page. It's annoying. Even more annoying than their recent redesign and their attempts to be Facebook.

Anyone know why my iPhone is suddenly logging me out of buffistas all the time? Driving me batty.

I don't know if this is the cause, (iphone Luddite here) but when I had the 8 GB iphone and it was almost full, Safari did not cache anything and I had that very problem on sites.

With the 32 GB version I've not had the same problem.
