You know, I just... I woke up, and I looked in the mirror, and I thought, hey, what's with all the sin? I need to change. I'm... I'm dirty. I'm, I'm bad with the... sex and the envy and that, that loud music us kids listen to nowadays.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

ND, Will's computer started smoking yesterday.

Damn peer pressure.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Irritating, worn-out words of '06 banned

Lake Superior State University on Sunday released its annual "List of Words and Phrases Banished from the Queen's English for Mis-Use, Over-Use and General Uselessness."

...

Critics piled on the media's practice of combined celebrity names such as "TomKat" or "Brangelina." One said, "It's so annoying, idiotic and so lame and pathetic that it's "lamethetic.'"

Real estate listings were targeted for overuse of "boast." As in "master bedroom boasts his-and-her fireplaces — never 'bathroom apologizes for cracked linoleum,'" quipped Morris Conklin of Portugal.

Betsy, you know, you should really Talk to your computers to prevent this sort of thing.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Simple syrup and lime juice? A no-go. I knew to be suspicious when the recipe appeared to swap lime juice and Rose's.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I never had any real plans to switch from Rose's for my gimlets, and yet, it's very comforting that bon bon came to the same conclusion.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

What is Rose's if not essentially simple syrup and lime juice?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

don't you have a thing about chicken marsala?

Too sweet? I guess it is a little sweet, but not prohibitively so. Unlike bon's gimlets.

Fie to you old fuddy duddies. I'm part of the new guard, and I'm juicy good.

Well, the difference between bottled lime juice and fresh is considerable. I have my preference.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

We don't have flying cars, but we did have Dan the Rocketman at the parade. Does that count?

I have bacon, but I did not eat it today.

Today I made Oopsidoodles. I made Snickerdoodles for last night's NYE party, but they ate them! So I was bereft. I went to make another batch just for us, but alas, discovered too late I was low on sugar and out of cinnamon. So I substituted raw washed sugar for half the white and pumpkin pie spice for the cinnamon. They are teh YUM! Oopsidoodle!
