You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

Damn I missed the stormtroopers. Maybe they'll come around again after I get out of the shower.

Baking bacon: the way to go.

I too have burned things in a crock pot.

What is this "McNulty chat" of which you speak?

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

Kevin - Sob. This veggie thing. I'm not going to make it. Half way through the first day and I'm sat thinking about bacon.

According to the play "Naked Girl On The Appian Way" by Richard Greenberg, bacon is the #1 thing that causes vegetarians to relapse. I say.. GO FOR THE BACON.

As for me, being that I have no bacon in the house, and feeling far too lazy to go out and buy bacon. I'm gonna order a bacon pizza for delivery.

Yay for the year of the Pork! YUMMY!

ok, now I gotta catch up on a ton of bitch posts too.

ETA: All these posts about Gus. makes me real sad to be the new guy, having never interacted. Sounds like he was a great guy. :: raises glass to Gus ::

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I'm altering my diet in the new year just like so many others. Still I don't see the need to give up bacon entirely. I'm for bacon in moderation.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Does anybody know how best to thaw out ground turkey? Is there any trick that I can try, like a microwave or something?

sure you can put it in the micro on defrost.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I thaw it in the fridge or microwave. Does your microwave have a defrost by pounds setting? That's all I do. Except usually it has that little piece of plastic stuck to it, and I thaw for a bit, then pull that bit off, then thaw for a bit more.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Or run it under cold water.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

if you're not sure the setting you can just put it on 50% power but it thaws from the outside so you have to kind of scrape off the stuff that thaws after every couple minutes.

Alternately: if I was making something like chili I would dump the frozen turkey right in the frying pan over low heat and stir & break it up until it was uniformly cooked.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I've put ground meat right in the pan, too, and defrosted it as I went. I don't know if that's bad for the Danger Zone or whatever, but it works for the microwave-free.

I have not had any pork today, and it looks like I'm not going to. Ah well.
