Zoe: What's that, sir? Mal: Freedom, is what. Zoe: No, I meant what's that? Mal: Oh. Yeah. Just step around it. I think something must've been living in here.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

We plan to spend New Year's Eve watching PBS. Huh.

I have not heard from Allyson but, from the looks of the United Flight Status page, it seems as if she made it to Chicago and might possibly be sitting on a plane bound for LA right now.

My plan for NYE is to watch a bunch of free OnDemand movies. It seems there's a whole new TCM section now. First up, Gilda.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

It seems there's a whole new TCM section now.
Shiny!

Fay's still in England, right? Bombs went off a little bit ago in Bangkok at their New Year's festivities.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Unplanned bombs? Yikes.

Ooh! I watched North By Northwest earlier, but otherwise, I can't seem to stop watching Law & Order. I feel like it's all I've done for two days, even though I can prove I've done other things as well.

Yikes

Very yikes. Fatalities, and the government's shut down the festivities.

Okay, just heard from Allyson. She is, indeed, in Chicago but is waitlisted for the already overbooked last flight out. She'll know in the next half hour if she's flying out tonight or not.

If she ends up stranded there, and since they would probably put her on the first flight out tomorrow morning, I think I've talked her into checking into the Hilton at the airport and running up a nice room service bill.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I'm back and ready to run out to O'Hare if she needs me.

I watched that last night!

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Maybe we can have a virtual wake.

We pick a time. We all log on. We all have a drink and tell stories. We chip in and buy a goat or something from Oxfam in his name.
