Allyson, that sounds like such an excellent day! Lucky nephew.

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

Grand Canyon FAQ at the National Park Service website:

That's a relief -- I was hoping the story was exaggerated.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Quiet day here, with no real plans.Just a pesky cat who keeps meowing at me.

Art Crawl!!!

My plans mostly involve the FNL marathon which from ep 1 (we just started ep 3) is involving lots of tears. (The first ep? That hit on Street that paralyzes him? Much worse to watch after watching whole season.)

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

Yes! I just mainlined the first half of the season the other day. That show owns me now. I adore Street.

Am still without baggage, and getting unhelpful information from United (oh, yes, your bag will be delivered. When? Oh, I don't know). Spent all day yesterday at home instead of where I needed to be, am not willing to do it again. Unfortunately, my phone charger is in that baggage, so I will be unable to call them pretty soon.

Am disgruntled.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

My phone charger will work for my Palm Pilot and vice versa -- but that may just be a quirk of the model.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

So, this is what it's come to: I just pulled a white hair out of my head, I'm about to go to a one-year-old's birthday party, and my plans for New Year's Eve are to stay home and go to bed early. @@

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Just saw Inherit the Wind for the first time. Boy howdy, that's a hell of a movie.

That is a great film--Fredric March and Spencer Tracy are wonderful in their faceoff, and Gene Kelly as the Mencken stand-in is terrifically dry and cynical.

"GRAMMIE! I BOUGHT YOU SOME FLOWERS!"

So cute!!! I loved it when the niece/nephews were that young. But, it is nice when they get past the monosyllabic stage and start showing interest in other humans. The 16-y.o. actually made sure to talk to me on the phone on Christmas to tell me that he wasn't going to join us for the movie on Tuesday and he therefore thought he wouldn't be seeing me before I left on Wednesday. When I told him his dad was giving me a ride to the airport and I'd be seeing him before I left, he sounded happy to hear that!

Just a pesky cat who keeps meowing at me.

This was Amarna last night. She stayed sprawled on the end table next to the computer desk and even occasionally nudged my arm to get attention when I was busy playing mah jong.

Good: I cashed in a few of giftcards yesterday and got myself an ice cream machine, which is now not-so-quietly humming away in the kitchen. Hooray for ice cream! (Mint chocolate chip, for those wondering)

Ungood: I can't find the floorplan of the new apartment where I wrote down all the room measurements. How am I supposed to mentally organize my books and furniture without wall dimensions?
