Okay, that NYT article on dictionaries that bon bon linked to has me wondering, how do you all say "niche"? I assumed all Americans said "Nitch", but a sidebar to that article indicated otherwise. [link]

"Niche" - when I'm reading it, it sounds like "neeesh" in my head. When I say it out loud, it is more like "nitch". I can't explain why it is different.
