No. And yes. It's always sudden.

Ann, that's a ferret.

It's official -- federal government (at least the Executive Branch) will be closed Tuesday to mourn President Ford.

On the bright side, four day weekend. Four and a half, if we close early enough tomorrow. And we might -- we usually close early on New Year's Eve or the equivalent work day.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Excellent 30 Rock on tonight, for people who don't normally watch.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Saddam to be hanged by Sunday

Do you suppose any right-wingers will accuse us anti-capital punishment types of wanting to "coddle" Saddam by not hanging him by his neck until he's dead?

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Does that mean we won't get mail on Tuesday?

As a subcontract of a subcontract, I won't get it off.

I don't know, but Burger Kings have their flags at half-mast.

hip deep in pie

I discover WWDTM on podcast and it's great. Podcasts made the 7 hour bus ride to my parents house far more palatable.

David, you should check out the CBC podcasts. Especially Ideas, if you like longform thinky documentaries (recent topics have included unclassified Cold War archives, new religious philosophy and organic food.) and Radio 3 for indie Canadian bands. [link]

I also love the C'est La Vie word of the week. I am learning French a word at a time.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

I had a cat who'd hunt broccoli. And then growl while eating it. She was odd.

Best.Cat.Story.Evah!

Thanks for the b-day wishes.

I am grumpy about it, as usual. Aside from you all and my coworkers, the only acknowlegement I've gotten was from my oldest sister who said she bought me a card, but doesn't have my current address. The one I've had for SIX years! None of the other 5 siblings have been heard from.

I ate an entire bag of Hershey's sugar free dark chocolate and now am a little sick to my stomach. I hate birthdays.
