What are people doing for New Year's Eve? Chicagoistas?

I have no plans. Other than possibly eating ice cream and marathoning Heroes all night.

New baby means we revel in the fact that we can simply sleep in the next day. I expect I'll imbibe some alcohol.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

I will do the same thing I have to do every year. Party at the bar, after party at the hotel.

Yeah, I'm not really in the mood for a wild party this year, but I am so down with having a day off.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I might go to Ikea on Sunday. It's got to be a slow day there, doesn't it?

I may be doing that on New Year's Day (probably spend the Eve at the house of friends' of mine that's on the way to the MA location).

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I'd double-check that the IKEA bus is running, since it's kind of a holiday. (There is also a regular NJ transit bus that goes there, but the last time I went that route, the driver had never been to IKEA before and took several wrong turns before we finally found the place.)

Yeah, it just stops at 5 instead of 6. That works!

I'm working on New Year's, so hopefully everyone else will be doing fun things elsewhere.
