And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I've stayed at the Royal York, but we were there on an Expedia special rate, so our room was less than swanky. Very nice, though.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Slept on the hardest bed in the world at the Ritz in Montreal. I spend far too much time at the Swissotel these days, though that's not so much in that class.

So weird that the Peabody in Memphis just came up. My sister is pushing to go there for New Years. I'd never heard of it before yesterday.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I just woke up to ten migraine free minutes. Enough time to poke around the web, check my email to see that my conciliatory message to the best friend was received in the spirit it was sent.

Sadly, I've been up about thirteen minutes now. So much for respite.

Kat, what time are you leaving home?

Thanks, Strega. I wonder what their overarcing game plan is for the series.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

At 11:00.

So, I've learned something cool. There's a nerve beneath a birthmark on my right thigh. A little more than an 1.5 inch deep, there's a nerve that when hit with a syringe, the entire thigh muscle clenches with extreme pain. It's cool, right? Or painful.

I might come by earlier, Kat. While the head hurts like this it's hard to make plans for going actual places, so if we can leave it fluid, that's for the best. I'm going back to bed.

Does anyone remember the name of that site that people go to to bitch about their companies? And then they do it from their work computer and get fired?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Not fuckedcompany, right?

Oh, good luck on the interview tomorrow, brenda.

Oh, I stayed at the Royal York too! On the special club floor, which was nifty. Though, of the then-Canadian Pacific hotels I've stayed at, my favorite was the Palliser in Calgary.

I think my swankiest hotel experience was the Four Seasons in Las Vegas.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Kat, it's cool, because now you know where NOT to put the syringe, right?

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Emmett's playing with Matilda. He's on his back and she's sitting on his belly, leaning back against his upraised knees. She's content and he's being very careful and sweet with her. It's good.
