I'm just, uh, just feeling kinda... truthsome right now. And, uh... life's just too damn short for ifs and maybes.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

sweet carob balsamic vinegar.

runs back to her neighborhood to find this - ONE of the Italian delis is sure to have it

Gimlets shouldn't cost $10, right?

Nice place, name-brand vodka, it's not crazy.

This. Especially if you're in a place where a name-brand shot costs $8 or more.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

All of this talk about booze reminds me that I probably need to buy more vanilla vodka. And more absinthe, but that involves mail-order.

I still want to try Pinky vodka.

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

That is my secret for cheap drinking: Tom Collins. Everything else on the drink menu is $10, and a Collins is like $4. There are a lot of places where it's cheaper than beer.

Which is weird.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

OK, name brand is the squash court of this conversation.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

if you don't want sugar in the drink, it's vodka with lime juice, not a freaking vodka gimlet.

You're so cute. But it was the nice lady who called it a gimlet, not me. Maybe it was sweetened. But the sugar was definitely an undertone. Mostly, it was juicy and alcoholic. Mmm. Sour.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Jilli - it was so funny. Some asshat on "Millionaire" the other night lost out on $500K because she didn't know what ingredient in absinthe made it illegal.

Hey! I did not make up the name brand. The name brand always existed...I just forgot to mention it up front. Name brand is more like the "starbucks card bought by continental Americans" of this conversation.

Also, I forgot it might make a difference.

I'm sure of it. It's really tasty. And not just in drinks!

What, she didn't know wormwood? Or was the answer thujone?

How much do I love that this sentence makes perfect sense?

I like my CC & water - simple, not-expensive, and conducive to nursing the drink so I don't get hammered. The problem lies (as it so often does) in when I get talked into doing shots as well.

brillig

Boy, $2.95 a bottle Boone's Farm looks better and better. Or Franzia's wine-in-a-box.
