I've never gone hunting, but if someone is using a shotgun to hunt deer, wouldn't they be more likely to use a slug instead of buckshot? Of course, since it's called 'buckshot,' maybe I'm wrong....
You're right. I only looked at the seasoning thing briefly, but if it's real, it would be for the small speedy animals that shotguns are used to hunt.

Hmm, those are all rifles. At least in Wisconsin, there are areas where you can only use a rifle, and areas where you can only use a shotgun. If you use a shotgun, you either use shot or slugs. (A slug is just a hunk of lead.)
