Jessica, too bad your company gift exchange thing has a $20 limit, because I have found the perfect thing

That is so great--I want one! Reminds me of the present my first boss got from a contractor (who gave me a very nice Lenox china angel ornament that started my fancy label Christmas ornament collection) which looked like an authentic 18th-century duelling pistol but shot rubber bands. Came in a wood case and everything!

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

You've seriously already got one?

Seriously! You can tell when things are slow, because Co-Worker Whose Catapult It Is will start catapulting things at the rest of us. (And was in fact already ruled out as a Secret Santa gift on account of the price. Because having two would allow us to catapult things at the other catapult, which would be twice as much fun.)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

You mean repel. Which if that's their goal...

Part and parcel, I bet.

I want to meet Mac.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Aww! Yay mac! Yay Christmas tree!

We need to get ours. I think we're going to try for a little live one again, because we bought property, and we can plant it there! Since we won't get to build there for a while, it'll be nice to feel like we're making it our own.

Plus, I need a tree, because I went to an unexpected Christmas party the other day with a friend of mine. They had an ornament exchange, but of course, I didn't have an ornament because I was invited at the last minute. But one nice lady who was leaving early gave me her spot in the ornament exchange. And so I drew this incredibly lovely handmade ornament all beaded and beribboned by one of the older ladies in the group. I'll have to take its photo. It's gorgeous. But I didn't have a tree to hang it on, because I am lazy! I don't even have my nativity scene (made of stones when I was a kid, I know, weird kid) out.

Also?

Because having two would allow us to catapult things at the other catapult,

You absolutely have to get a second catapult.

I want to meet Mac too! I have Mac-centric gifts, cause I'm not above bribing a kid for affection.

OK. less than an hour left. I'd bounce in my chair if only my chair were bouncy. No more work this week. WOOT WOOT.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I am talky.

I am off work, because I cleared my administrative slate to go teach a private lesson late afternoon, but my student (a twin) is having a student council meeting. The SO is teaching her sister right now, but I have an hour that has absolutely nothing planned for it. Maybe I'll go watch the end of the Lost Room. Which, I know, is more than an hour, but give me an inch and I'll take a mile.

eta: Woot for no more work for Kat!

MWAH! Hi Liese!

I looked at Lori this morning and said, "Hey! We should go to Santa Fe for Christmas!" And by that, I meant THIS Christmas. Which, since it's in less than two weeks, seems a little unpossible.

Hey! Anyone want to plan a trip to Santa Fe for me and Lori? We'll drive there, but we need a place to stay, an itinerary of things to do. We can leave 12/22 and be home by 12/27. Thanks.
