The Lost Room is three parts.
Oh! I thought it was another 13-ep series. I saw enough ads for it, you'd think I'd have picked up what the format was at some point. But I have been sleepy. Anyway, cool beans. It looks like they're running it all on Sunday, so I will mark your posts until then.
But hey,
Frankenfish
is on at 3 AM tonight!
I have to go to the Xmas party tomorrow afternoon. Which sucks inherently, and sucks because I actually have a lot of work to do and I'd really, really like to get it all done by Thursday COB so I can take Friday off. I don't think that's going to happen. Although maybe that'll be my excuse to duck out early. Hm.
You know, I have three episdoes of Nip/Tuck on my tivo, and I don't feel particularly inclined to watch them. I don't know when the show jumped the shark, but I just don't give a damn anymore.
One of the things that is compelling about Lost Room and its mythos is that there are theories. It's not a 22 episode arc where there's time for Internet geeks to get together and make guesses--and I don't think that's a bad thing. There are events in the show, and theories within the show, which is only natural. Internet geeks aren't the only people that make things up.
You know what there's a lot of? Communication. It's not one of those shows (and Heroes is pretty free of this too) where you're left irritated that people just hadn't shared or explained or contradicted. They're not caught up with that soap opera stutter/silence that you see so often.
Also, the viewpoint character has about the knowledgebase (effectively) of the viewer. So problems aren't solved with his extensive knowledge of biotech, or anything.
You can play along at home.
Yes, EXACTLY. I always appreciate being as smart as the characters on the show, and everyone being on the same page-- that's one reason I love the episode of Friends where people find out that Chandler & Monica are doing it and figure out immediately that the other party knows, and etc. etc., and use it to their advantage.
I do think this could have been a decent full-season series, though. We could learn more about Joe, about Jennifer, all of the key players. Maybe it couldn't have gone more than one season, but this is one show I'd actually like more of, based on what I've seen.
It's definitely a premise that has a lot of staying power, and I suspect that the mini is intended partly to gauge the interest in a series, even though I imagine they won't be able to cast Krause/Margulies. I
doubt they will find all the objects and explain what the room is about. I think they'll just end things by tying up Krause's problem. Which I am a little frustrated by, honestly. The idea of tying up all these loose ends tomorrow has a lot of appeal.
Somehow, I've developed this bizarre habit that my mom has that always drove me nuts: no matter how bad I have to pee, I have to finish washing the dishes before I can go.
Um. Just sharing. On the internets.
Seeing the rss feed in LJ reminds me--
You know, ita, if you did feel like creating a scruffy men web site, I could help you out. It might require lots of hard work and sacrifice, but I would be willing to go that distance.
Lee, you could go ahead and do the research in anticipation of a time when ita might want to do that. I'd be happy to take a look at anything you might find.
My tv watched House on the wrong channel. Again. Cass Smash!

Yes! Because while people are stupid, they aren't
that
stupid.
Jonas Blane is the anti-Jack Bauer. Jack's a yeller and a screamer, always trying to bludgeon any given situation by screaming louder and louder.
But then he purrrrrrrs... Sorry, I have a Keifer Sutherland thing. And a Keifer Sutherland's voice thing. More the voice thing than the guy thing even. It's a thing. He should call me. Just to talk. Really.

I've kind of kept up but god knows why. I mean, when
Kimmy
is the most interesting character to me?
There's been some shark jumpage. Mako.
We have acheived sleep until6am! YAY! Disturbing discoveries of the day: 1) mac was exposed to Barney already and he likes it. 2) Having never really watched tv, mac does not understand commercials and yells for a channel change everytime they come on.

This is a sane and normal reaction.
