Buffy: So how'd she get away with the bad mojo stuff? Anya: Giles sold it to her. Giles: Well, I didn't know it was her. I mean, how could I? If it's any consolation, I may have overcharged her.

Because books.

My weird celebrity dreams have very often been about Jon Bon Jovi and Brooke Shields. Shields I get because when I was a kid, she was a kid, and I had a kind of schoolgirl crush on her (we totally coulda been BFF!), but Bon Jovi? I don't listen to Bon Jovi, and I've never even seen Moonlight and Valentino. But there he's been, at least three different times, two of them kissing me.

Which didn't suck. I mean, he is cute, in a kind of golden, shaggy way.

What is even happening?

Okay, Robin, you're dreaming about the Democrats cleaning house, and you want to see them return to the Oval Office, and will do what it takes to get them there, even if it means sacrificing personal happiness.

AmyLiz, your mind is trying to work through the fact that you've seen all the classics. You know every line: Breakfast Club, Pretty in Pink Even Saint Elmo’s Fire. You rocked out to Wham! Not a big Limp Bizkit fan, thought you'd get a hand on a member of Duran Duran.

Now you're wondering: where's the mini-skirt made of snake skin; and who's the other guy that's singing in Van Halen; when did reality become T.V.; what ever happen to sitcoms, game shows.

On the radio was Springsteen, Madonna (way before Nirvana). There was U2 and Blondie, and music still on MTV. Your two kids in high school they tell you that you're uncool, 'cause you're still preoccupied with 19...19...1985.

Compassionately intolerant

It was part of a longer dream where we moved into a house in some beach town which was owned by someone running for Governor (hence Clinton being there) and it was being filmed for a speech.

This is bizarre. I had a very similar dream years ago. It was so long and detailed, that when I awoke, I had to draw what I had seen. The house, in my case, was on the banks of a river...and Bill's speech was being filmed.

This isn't exactly the 'naked not having studied for the test' dream. How could it have entered the collective unconsious?

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Cindy - first time I heard that song was in my van, with K-Bug and a bunch of her friends. They were all goofing on it. Me - I graduated high school in 1985. Enuf said.

Now tagless for your comfort.

I had a GREAT dream involving Jason Dohring this week. But that's all I'm saying about it. It was great.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

A friend called me at 10 to 9 this morning. "Did I wake you?" "No." "Oh, you're up early!"

Dude...so you thought you would wake me?

Not that it's a big deal. All I have to do today is jobhunt, and why not get an early start. Just weird to go into a call with that assumption.

I installed an app on my Powerbook last night so I could send SMS messages from it, instead of T9ing on the phone itself (which is pretty good, but there's a keyboard right there, so why not use it? The app also has a caller ID function, so when the phone rang this morning I looked over at the laptop screen to see why it wasn't asleep, and it had her name and phone # writ huge across the screen.

Cool. Weird, but cool. Shame you can only have on bluetooth connection at a time--it's either this app or the headset.

My mother (no, really, she did) had a dream that she was having an affair with Bill Clinton; they were at a party being all sneaky with the stolen glances and all. Which is hilarious, because she's not a Clinton fan... at all.

We're a triumvirate, troika, or possibly the triptych.
