Yeah, I could do that, but I'm paralyzed with not caring very much.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Stuffed crust... Mmmm... Heart stopping goodness.

I AM
Damn, I have to pay that parking ticket I got at your house. Still. I don't remember actually ever doing that. I remember being confuzzled they knew my new address before I did and then ... nothing.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Most of my life is lived within the confines of "ish".

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Most of my life is lived within the confines of "ish".

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

I'm wondering how Mac and the cats are taking to each other--msbelle still has the cats, right?

I have two sets of friends who traveled to China to adopt their daughters. It is an experience unlike any other. I had the priviledge of writing the rec letter for one family to their adoption agency. I said, honestly, I couldn't think of a family better suited to welcome another child. They had two daughters already, and thought another would complete their family.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

this is like this new human come into our lives with no experience of his new world, you know, and yet can communicate to us

I was thinking exactly this during a lull at krav today. And he's learning communication too! Not how to communicate period, like an infant, but how to communicate in a new way.

It's like magic.

I have no magic. I have a sore throat and sore knees (skyrocketing weights in kettlebell plus being 20lbs over my default weight--I can/will fix one of those, so I fear I must stop lifting quite so hard. With my knees, anyway) and teeth that ring with incipient migraine.

Right. And no job.

But a lot less bummed than that list might imply.

Still, money? People should give some to me. And I probably should file for unemployment.

eta: I'm still pretty much against random paparazzi photos, but I don't know where else to find a picture of Violet Affleck, and she might be the cutest celebrity baby out there (Kingston Stefani's a decent second place). So I lay my judgementalism a little aside.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Wow, mac is an early bird. Or, y'know, jetlagged. Here's hoping that passes quickly.

And now this night owl must head toward bed.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

3 AM! Mac and I are on the same schedule, hundreds of miles (and a timezone or three) apart.

I am tired but can't sleep. This is troubling. It does not bode well for the day.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Oh, Mac is an utter cutiehead! What a wonderful smile!
