Somewhere, Bill the Cat is in mourning.
Yes! I was thinking Breathed needed to do a special series.
every time they said "Iraq study group," I thought they were going to talk about the Rock Steady Crew.
I liked last night's Colbert Report opening, with the subtitle of "Iraq Paper Scissors."
ita, can you shoot me a mail to mohmlet at gmail?
I need to ask you a quick question.
OCALA -- Wesley Snipes, the Hollywood action star, was taken into custody this morning and will appear before a federal judge to answer charges of tax fraud and conspiracy later today.

The judge orderd that Snipes come back to the states for another appearance on Jan. 10.

Snipes, an Jones High School graduate and former Isleworth resident, was indicted before a federal grand jury in Tampa on October 17 on charges of conspiracy to defraud the IRS and submitting false estimated-tax payments worth $14 million.
Huh. This goes beyond just not paying your taxes....
I don't think he can method-act his way out of that.
I don't think so, too. It's much bigger than a paper bag, and he's STILL working on that.
Snipes is involved with Guiding Light Ministries a "church" that just teaches people how to avoid paying taxes. This is a pretty good article about the situation. [link]
I had a coworker whose line on tax law sounded mightily like Guiding Light Ministries. Creeped me out, he was so intense and wanting to convert.
Those people are weird/scary. Years ago I worked for a credit card company - our department would get all the weird cases. There were these people who would get credit cards secured by their houses, borrow tens of thousands of dollars, and then claim that the US money system was unconstitutional or some such BS and as a result they had no obligation to repay the money.
Once I saw a church that apparantly conviced a couple to borrow $80,000 against their house - the church attempted to legally represent the homeowners in their assertion that they didn't have to pay the money back. Of course, they lost their house.
