Now I did a job. I got nothing but trouble since I did it, not to mention more than a few unkind words as regard to my character so let me make this abundantly clear. I do the job. And then I get paid.

Heh. This morning I was worried that the wind would iceblast the makeup off my face and I'd have to go to work looking like a pathetic, grumpy clown.

I was watching NCIS the other night for the first time with the current season, and I saw to my mild dismay that they've decided to give Gibbs an antagonist in the form of a female director who has a romantic history with him. My word, how original. They're doing it on Bones, too.

Then I got to thinking. It used to be that it would be a fellow agent or something, but with a character like Gibbs on NCIS you need someone with significant personal power to be a proper foil. Therefore, a woman with influence.

This is an interesting trend. TV is now showing us women in charge of important operations without making a big deal of the fact that they're women "in a man's job". It's not like the days of Capt. Kirk having flings with the Lieutenant Of The Week. The women today are expected to be competent and powerful in order to be a proper interest to the hero.

I like it.

edit because while McGee is oodles of fun, he's flirting with Abby, not the director.

I like the idea of Lauren Holly's role on NCIS. The execution of it, not so much.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Ugh, I hate that character (continuing my trend of hating).

The execution of the idea on Bones isn't too bad. I like the way Booth is trying to keep it on the down-low and getting flustered as people find out. Plus

he and Cam are actually doing stuff instead of just looking pointedly at each other.

Should that be whitefonted? It happened nearly a month ago.

She's been almost tolerable lately especially in her scenes with Tony, but really, it can't erase the horror of her asking, "DO YOU REMEMBER US MAKING LOVE, JETHRO?" the second he wakes up from a coma.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yeah, "Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted."

You all can decide what's "detailed."

I was kind of startled when I heard "coma", too. I thought, "What is this, cliche of the week?"

What happened to the redhead in the hot convertible that Gibbs'd disappear with every now and then?
