"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Brenda, it was clear to me from the very beginning. they should have found a better actor to play the young mobster whose name I forget. He and Daltrey look nothing alike, even counting the 30 years. but that's what happens in that sort of situation.

Perkins the cat is at the vet today burning a hole in my savings account recovering from getting his teeth cleaned

I'm going to have to take Amarna in to get her teeth cleaned after the holidays, but the good thing is that the animal hospital is offering a discount on all health maintenance services performed in the months of January and February. They do this every year, apparently, and many of their patients take advantage of the discount.

I've got my tree up, finally, but will wait until tomorrow to put the lights on, and then I'll put the ornaments up later in the week. The new apartment's living room is definitely smaller than my last one, because my furniture is significantly crammed due to the tree sitting in front of the balcony door.

I have to run over to Michael's and pick up some ribbon for the garland sometime soon (the first year I had the tree, I used some really pretty white ribbon with gold pattern running through it, which was very nice against the dark green of the tree).

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

It always cracks me up how Mom will ask why I don't have a pet, then with the next breath complain about her cat's vet bills and habit of waking her up by yowling in the middle of the night.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Oh Mama, I'm in fear for my life from the long arm of the law
Law man has put an end to my running and I'm so far from my home
The jig is up, the news is out
They finally found me

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I'm more often jealous of my cat's life -- this morning, when I had to head out for work, he was curled up asleep on my bed! Just like I would have liked to have been! Must be nice.

Apparantly, getting married on an iceberg is problematic....

A entrepreneurial couple planned to get married on one of the bergs, but ran into a few glitches with their plans to land on a berg with a celebrant and celebrate their union floating in the ocean on a chunk of ice. They sold the story to a womens mag (so I guess they would need a wedding photographer too). The only probs were they could not find a pilot, and their union would not have been legal because a celebrant can only marry two people who are withing 12 nautical miles of the coast, the bergs are at least 25 nautical miles from the coast, a captain of a ship can marry two people in international waters, but icebergs do not come with captains.

Re: Friday Night Lights: The church scene with Smash accepting the money done killed me, and I really enjoyed Matt and Smash working together. The fight between Tim and his brother was ugly and far too real. Also, Jason and his roommate on the floor, laughing and hollering for Phil? That was all kinds of awesome.

Still totally smitten with Kyle Chandler.

Oh boy, do I know that feeling. And my cats make it worse by deciding that my alarm is a sign for them to hop into bed and snuggle.

Art Crawl!!!

shrift - yes to all of that. I was foolishly hoping that Smash would NOT buy the drugs. I also loved CT dropping the salad bowl when he heard that Julie was on the phone with Matt. (And what was his comment after the Ping Pong scene, "Contrary to popular belief I can communicate with the womenfolk." Hee.)
