::tries to figure out where in Mexico it's 10:30 AM right now::

It's possible that I need more caffeine.

Are these two facts related?

Yes - only in that it is too early for lunch.

Also, is there any good Mexican food in Halifax? If there is, I haven't found it.

The only place I've heard good things about is Mexico Lindo, and you were soso on it, right?

There are people who make good tamales and tacos at the farmer's market.

I am going to die I am so tired. Also, after watching four episodes of The Wire last night, I dreamt about being in the midst of drug deals all night long. In my last dream, I travelled to London to make a drop.

I dreamed I was sneaking into my neighbor's house to retrieve my cat.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

The junkie cat has been shot up, and both cats have been fed, and I am going back to bed. YAY days off. (sorry Tom).

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Oh Matt, how'd your poor mom destroy a store-bought? What happened with your brownies?

Something about the oven timing. She checked for doneness with a toothpick and all seemed well, but after refrigeration she tried to cut it and it was all runny inside.

I think the problem with my brownie layer was a combo of the gas oven and a smaller, deeper pan, making the bottom burn while the top seemed fine. But the mint frosting layer used the same recipe that's worked fine since 1990 (no cooking involved), so I suspect a curse.

Last night I had a dream about my nearest and dearest cousin being beaten by her boyfriend (not the kind British real-life one) and trying to talk me down from retaliating. Not sure where that came from, as yesterday wasn't exactly full of unexpressed aggression, and that cousin is the most capable and self-sufficient of all my relatives.

Damn! I wish I'd remembered Darkovercon, since now that my Mom is living near Philly I can combine pleasure and filial duty and perhaps justify the long car trip. Not this year, but next....

Oh, and I just came across this Greenpeace commercial "Oh my God, they killed Squiddy!" It almost makes me like Greenpeace again:

brillig

I am at work. They've already said, "Anybody want to go home?" Which, of course, means that in a couple of hours, when all our customers have finished sleeping off their Thanksgiving comas, we'll be swamped.

Whee.

Of course, I may be wrong, and I may have a wonderful day of surfing fic sites ahead of me.
