It's because you didn't have a strong father figure isn't it?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Hey. New board.

I'm so sorry for your loss, and for everything.

Thanks. I'm actually feeling quite cheerful, in spite of all. The penguin book helped, and so did just writing all that out.

My grandmother has been an invalid for about 8 years now, and the visit on Christmas was terribly sad. She hadn't moved from bed in 2 months, and only recognized us very briefly before going glassy-eyed. She clearly was ready to go. Her passing is sad, as such always is, but it was time. And now, my grandfather, who has 20/20 vision and perfect hearing, and is generally in excellent health, will be able to leave the house again. He can go to church again, which is wonderful, especially as he was on the board for nearly 40 years.

Hi Gris! Good to see you. I'm sorry for your loss, but yes it is a blessing when it is time.

I need to learn how to play bridge one day. DH's grandmother was going to teach me, but it never happened. On my list.

I've bribed the children with pizza to get them to finish the tree. I really want it to go to the curb tonight.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

It's like Gris had my holiday- except I drove to Louisiana.

Wishing you much peace and comfort, Gris.

Someone stop me from eating all my mother in law's cookies before Mr. Jane gets home. It would be thoughtless and rude to eat them all before he gets here, but they are. so. good.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Welcome back, Gris! Sorry for your loss. Sitting around waiting for her passing must have been hellish. That's quite a tale, the last couple weeks of you.

Where from? I can't keep straight where Buffistas that I haven't met live.

Dallas, so not too bad of a drive.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

{{{{{Gris}}}}}}, so sorry to hear about your Grandmother.

If the smell in the fridge proves recalcitrant, try placing a few ounces of vanilla in a dish, and leave it for a few days. A neighbor who had once been manager of a large apartment building told me that one.

Happy b-day, MM.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

Gris, I wish you calm and normal for a few weeks.

It is very nice to walk across the office floor with out worrying that I might be stepping on something important. I didn't even reliezes that I was worried about where I was putting my feet . so odd.
