You're wrong about River. River's not on the ship. They didn't want her here, but she couldn't make herself leave. So she melted... Melted away. They didn't know she could do that, but she did.

Spike's Bitches 33: Weeping, crawling, blaming everybody else

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Plus being able to glide around is so damn wonderful.

Man, I LOVE the feeling of skating fast. It feels like flying.

DH doesn't share my love of rolling skating, however. It could be that the first time I took him he was slightly drunk, had to hold the rail for dear life (along witha few seven-year olds at the rink) and threw up in the parking lot afterwards (OK, he may have been A LOT drunk).

This conversation has me stoked. If it weren't for my damned bad back, I'd go skating right now.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

When it's 30 below (or colder) out, one does not spend more time outside than one has to.

Oh, I know this, it's just that my childhood memory banks are stocked with "do you think it's ever going to snow??"

Thrive to spite them

Am I the only one who read about the Goth roller skating and heard:

GOTHS ON SKAAAAAAATES a la Pigs in space?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

::tries to wrap poor global-warming-ized brain around "warm enough to skate"::

Plus the colder it is, the more friction there is between the skates and the ice.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

it's just that my childhood memory banks are stocked with "do you think it's ever going to snow??"

Heh. Yeah - I never quite had that problem. More like "do you think the snow's ever going to melt??" Though, apparently, they are severely lacking snow for the third year in a row.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

I am going off topic to let all and sundry know that "Rice in a Tube" and all giving of shit to Sean thereof should cease.

Why?

Because Joe and I had dinner at Sean and S' on Christmas Eve and holy fuck, can Sean cook! He made goat cheese and fig quesadillas that were so fucking good, I almost needed new pants.

The homemade salsa's and guacamole were awesome. The mole (yes - that's mole) was amazing (even if there was too much for the saucepan) and, well, it was all just amazing. Ooooh! The shrimp salad served on endive leaves? Well, I pretty much ate the whole plate. Seriously.

Just wanted to let everyone know.

Back to your regularly scheduled skating talk.

All is well that ends in pizza.

We had several inches of snow before thanksgiving, then a cold snap, then it all melted and we are essentially snowless since, with temps in the 30's and 40's for highs. Some 50's a few days ago.

Not right for Minnesota, but it's helping Andi this year.

It's 39 right now.

Our wings are not tired.

They don't get anywhere near as much snow in the Adirondacks as they did when I was a kid. Can't even depend on a white Christmas. Wrong really. The town where my sister works has a webcam, and it is snowing right now! [link]

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Because Joe and I had dinner at Sean and S' on Christmas Eve and holy fuck, can Sean cook! He made goat cheese and fig quesadillas that were so fucking good, I almost needed new pants.

Right on, Sean! It's been clear for a while that you've been building your culinary skills (under S's influence?) and it's good to hear you've mastered such tasty treats.

Art Crawl!!!

I have heat!

I've turned up the heaters to get the apartment to a good temperature.

Downside: still have holes in the floors which means that I am also heating the basement.
