bleargh I left my bagel in the toaster. Cookies for breakfast again! OK Sudafed you can kick in now I just have to get through the next 8 hours of work and them it's Christmas, Yay!
Spike's Bitches 33: Weeping, crawling, blaming everybody else
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Nick and Aidan are sitting in the living room floor putting together Aidan's train set. Aidan is mimicking Nick's speech. It's so adorable.
Kara is sitting at the dining room table helping her monkeys get into trouble in her Littlest Pet Shop.
Greg is cleaning up trash, and I am sitting her all warm glowy because my husband bought me neat things for Christmas. Lots of presents from wonderful people and Santa came through for the kids. I took pictures of them opening their presents and will post them when I've gotten my whelm back.
Happy Christmas, everyone!
We made it back from Indiana last night and the kids are having a blast playing with new toys. Next year I'm listening to DH--he suggested going light on the presents and was right. Owen is really only interested in playing with the first two or three things he opens. We still have a pile of unopened gifts under the tree.
Olivia's been running a steady fever of about 101 and a nasty cold since Saturday night. I've kept her dosed with Tylenol and she's eating and sleeping (mostly) pretty well. It being Christmas and us being out of state kept me from calling the pediatrician but I really hope she's over this snotty fever thing quickly.
Owen's currently terrorizing the dogs with his shake n go race car.
Our plans to mainline extended version LOTR dvds has been sidelined with a ded dvd player. DH is behind the wall unit now tracing cords to see if we can hack the system and bypass something or other to make it work.
I wrapped the last few things this morning, and will shortly go down and take Mom her pile o' presents--alas, no dog. It's all she's been wanting, but there won't be a dog, sorry. Still, presents to open can't be all bad.
Merry Christmas to everyone who celebrates!
Presents have been opened. Everyone liked the gifts I got them.
My body hurts. I got to trade up from the sofa from hell to an air mattress that is too short for me in a room that is so filled with clutter I couldn't strech out. Fuck this noise. I did get a copy of Aperture for Christmas so I will get to play with that when I get home tomorrow.

Better than a gift card and a sweater, eh?
I was just way too far behind and I finally caved and clicked recent in both Bitches and Natter. Saw the adorable and wonderful pic of msbelle and mac and did the happy tears thing. What a beautiful Christmas morning, if just for that alone. (I could post that in Natter, but I'm not awake enough to post in two threads. Barely awake enough to post in one.)
Had a lovely Christmas Eve and once I drag my butt into the shower, I'll head over to Aunt T's house for Christmas proper.
Merry Merry, y'all! I hope everyone has a great day.
Yes it is better than a gift card and a sweater. I finally got them to understand amazon wish lists and made one with about ten items on it and told them to choose something.
NoiseDesign, my 18 year old BiL is considering a major related to music/sound tech (or something--I'm not sure what the major is at his chosen school). Do you have any practical advise for him?
What school is he at and do you know what type of sound work he would like to enter? It's a pretty varied field and there are many practical ways to get some experience.

Will wonders never cease... And also, WOOT!
For all you sickies: I tried a couple of old cold remedies that I found on the internet yesterday and they seem to have helped a good deal. 1) Take 1,000 mg of vit c every hour for six hours and then follow up with 1,000 mg three times a day until symptoms are gone. 2) Soak a cotton ball with hydrogen peroxide and squeeze it into your ear. Hold it in your ear anywhere from five to ten minutes. (I'm assuming I had a touch of infection in my left ear since that's the one I felt a little bit of pain in while soaking. Still, not enough pain to discontinue the process.)
Get well soon vibes to all under the weather today.
I need to stop watching Ice Age on the teevee and get in the shower.
ETA: Here's where I found the info mentioned above.
