Spike's Bitches 33: Weeping, crawling, blaming everybody else

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Teppy, I'm watching RotK, too! Eowyn rocks.

Oh god, I forgot how much I love Samwise. "I can't carry the ring for you, but I can carry YOU!"

t edit And I'm remembering how I thought that Frodo would die while pitching the ring into Mt. Doom, because narratively, that makes the most sense. And so I was all prepared to weep and weep at his big sacrificial death....which (obviously) never happened. And I actually felt a little cheated.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I was able to fish out about a tablespoon of puree from around the mango chunks. The recipe calls for three tablespoons. I'm letting the remaining mangos soak for a bit longer.

My plan here was to puree the mangos and mix together the dry ingrediants and the wet ingredients separately tonight, then it would be easier to make the shortbreak tomorrow. I figured the pureeing and mixing would be the easy part.

Because books.

I'm watching RofK for the second time in two days -- and I am very tempted to shut myself up somewhere tomorrow and watch the whole damn trilogy again.

SO much this.

Kara's penis-having is the funniest thing I've heard in days. The whole conversation, in fact, was pretty damn awesome.

What everyone said. Those crying/fussing/inconsolable spells were so hard for me. And I did learn, really quickly, just to walk away for a few minutes when I was on the edge. Like Cash pointed out, sometimes it's actually what they want. And even when they don't, they learn that you come back.

Have you tried the vacuum, and/or sound of running water (Ben loved that -- I would stand by the kitchen sink, thanking all the gods that we didn't pay the water bill) or the TV on a non-working channel? White noise really works for some of the wee ones.

Me too. (Actually, I'm going to be seeing my sister next week, and I know that she hasn't seen any of them, so I might declare the weekend after we get back from vacation to be LotR weekend. As long as she doesn't rope me into watching The OC or One Tree Hill first.)

I have achieved mango puree. It has been mixed with ginger paste, and will be combined with flour, sugar, and butter tomorrow.

Also, I am breaking all the "doing this will kill you!" rules by softening butter by just leaving it on the counter overnight. I truly live on the edge.

I do this all the time. The only time I refrigerate butter is at the height of summer. I'm a butter rebel. It's gotta be soft enough to spread.

I don't use butter too often (I live alone, don't bake very often, and usually use olive oil for cooking), so I usually keep butter in the freezer and just defrost what I need. But for this, I need two sticks, and my microwave is broken so I can't just defrost that way.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

JZ, the first six months of parenthood = Hell's Boot Camp.

Then they get bigger, and start to brag about the size of their penis, it seems.

Tomorrow is going to suck cock for crack. We have to go and purge the fridge/freezer. Oy.

With any luck Certain People will Actually Sleep tonight, now that we're back in our own house.

I think it's fine to soften butter on the counter as long as you don't have cats.
