Zoe: Preacher, don't the Bible have some pretty specific things to say about killing? Book: Quite specific. It is, however, somewhat fuzzier on the subject of kneecaps.

Spike's Bitches 33: Weeping, crawling, blaming everybody else

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Our wings are not tired

Tell her you can include an eye exam with that.

Speaking of which, just got my eyes checked, and I can pick up new glasses in a little bit. They dialated my pupils. Gah, everything has halos around it.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Having my pupils dilated is the story of my life.

I got tired of driving, so I am now in a hotel in Oshkosh. Everyone else arrives at my parents' tomorrow anyway, so now I will too.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I really need new glasses and contacts. I'm still trying to sort through insurance stuff to figure out whether I should go to the eye doctor in NJ or find a new one in DC. But right now, I'm squinting at TiVo listings, which probably isn't good. (And my sister starts lecturing me about wrinkles whenever she notices me squinting.)

Oh, and I forgot to buy Chanukah candles. So my first night of Chanukah has thus far consisted of eating ravioli, cleaning my kitchen, and watching Return of the King. (Or, the end of it, anyway. I started about an hour in, and I don't remember enough of what came before to totally follow the plot anymore.)

Art Crawl!!!

Oh, that's right - TNT is showing RotK this weekend. I'd forgotten.

We had our office potluck yesterday and there was a TON of food. I figured we'd have plenty left over to have for lunch today but amazing amounts of stuff was gone. Like all the very delicious cookies that Housing and Dining sent over and all the chips and crackers. But there was still some left over KFC chicken and a bit of my tuna dip and some chicken salad. (I brought the chicken salad home and had a chicken salad sandwich for dinner. And my apartment got warm. . . I'm thinking that it maybe okay.)

The status is NOT quo.

Hi all! I appear to be on vacation. How 'bout that?

Don't ask if I've started packing for the 10-day trip I'm leaving for in the morning. Please don't ask.

Also? For the first time in my life, I just got a holiday bonus. Man, this kinda ROCKS! It's from the parent association and evidently varies year to year based on how much money they raise for us. I was expecting a couple hundred dollars...and I got over $600! Woot! Vacation money!

You all packed?

...

What? Like nobody knew I would be the one to do that?

"Hey, little furry wolverine...there's a weakened bear cub over there, just limping all bloody through the snow. Don't, you know, eat it or anything."

No, but that's not anyone's fault but our own.

Normally, being unemployed, I would have been home to receive said package. However, I had to take a temp opportunity that came along, so I was not home today. However, the post office will redeliver and we will be home tomorrow to receive, or we have made arrangements to get it on Monday, failing the Saturday thing.

I just want to say thank you again. Aimee said it, and found a better way to say it than I could, but there it is: "Thank you."

Y'all just...ROCK.
