I believe in benefits for same sex partners, but I also believe in benefits for others with non-traditional arrangements (like two divorced sisters living together with one working outside of the home and the other taking care of all of the kids). I hope that's next.
This is how I feel. A lot of times, when I see the, "It's about love," banners on LJ, I have to bite back the urge to argue that it is more about sex than love, at least right now. I'd like to see people be able to get legal status for all sorts of families-of-choice, not just those based on romantic partnerships (het or same sex).

So cool. Hey, we had the Melbourne Cup on Tuesday, and first and second place were taken by Japanese horses. I thought that was pretty cool.
