Well, either y'all are asleep or my drunk tush killed the thread.
'Him'
Spike's Bitches 33: Weeping, crawling, blaming everybody else
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Suzi, you look amazing. But it's not so much unusual; I've always thought you were gorgeous.
When did Nick get to be 21? 21? That's just not right. He's over 18, it's right enough.
Yeah, going to hell.
I don't know if I would like having my parent teaching at my school. The kids I know in that situation don't seem to mind.I dated a guy whose mom taught Spanish in high school. I took French.
But she terrified me way beyond the being a teacher thing. She was also mayor later. Then she posed nekkid for a fundraising calendar to help the sick grandchild of her friend. Damn, I like her more and more... I mean, broke up with her son for good a long time ago but I do like her now.
And, yeah, I have the calendar. I mean the woman who was nearly my M-i-L posing naked with a feather boa and a wickedly cool old car? Oh yeah.
Plus it was for a good cause.
(And brenda, thanks for taking a stand, because I'm not good at that. I think it's totally cool too, and I love when that shit happens. A few months ago, a similar thing happened where an LJ friend mentioned me in her journal, and the ex-boyfriend of another, totally unconnected friend of mine was all, "How do YOU know him?" And I was all, "What, how do YOU know her?!" And, yes, they went to high school together. It was crazy times.)And, it was long ago now, by my wigginsedness at PC's knowing someone who knew Aimee was all about my wiggins at anyone I know knowing other people I know apart from places like here. It's a thing. A weird thing, I know. But it is my thing. I am sort of in awe when it happens to other people, cause worlds small and worlds collide!
Yeah. As funny as the statement "Dude, where's your car?" is...it's not really funny when it happens to you.True. I've had cars stolen and towed and it's never that funny. Of course, having a car towed cause you left it in a place two hours past when you could cause you were drunk? Still better than if I'd driven it home or to move it. Funny that it was a rental I was tempted to leave it though.
Treating me like he was doing me a big damn favor to give me a price on the car. I'd be lucky if they had one available. They are always $$$ over sticker because of supply and demand. I let him know, politely, that his demand was just one less now, not to worry.Oh! This is why I haven't bought a new car. I get annoyed and walk out. Every. Time.
Still there was one guy who was nice. If he can just get the exact car I want it, Ima buy it.
I was amused by the little icon next to the cup holder showing not to put a wine glass thereWell see if I buy a BMW! Though I am enthralled with Minis and my dad's many experiences with them haven't swayed me otherwise.
I am rather in favor of real trees if one is to have a tree, unless there are allergie, but...
we just went with the most artificial-looking tree we could find. Sparkly sparkly white tinsel!this is perfect for Jilli and Pete! Just perfect.
Other people have offered, but I don't yet feel like it's fair to them or the kidlet to take them up on it, and besides, they wouldn't be the "call in a pinch and beg" sortYou know, I need to call P and her DH and start getting enmeshed enough that they can add me to this list. Because parents really have it rough some times...
My parents have already had an overnight with my sis's twins but she relies on them massively. And there is a little part of me that is glad I moved. Last time she had a baby and I was there? She moved in rent free with me and I got to learn how to be an almost single parent while she worked nights and I hung out with the nephlet. I wouldn't give it up for the world but I don't want to go back there either.
She tried to ride the cat.Yeah, they really need the people who are genetically programmed not to wring their evil little necks sometimes. In a good way...
Man, I could use a beer.Parenting needs more beer.
Suzi is foamy!
Suzi, you look amazing. But it's not so much unusual; I've always thought you were gorgeous. She really is.
Went out. Am drunk. Band awesome! Fiddle and bass player flirtage. Friend ran over, like with his body, a barricade. Spent the rest of the night looking for him. Had hot dog. Now passing out.
Dude, I meara'd.
Ran over a barricade? Did we find him safe and not mortally wounded?
mr. flea and I haven't been out as just a couple since the Dillo was born, and we did it precious rarely before. Partly because the kind of babysitters you pay (the only kind we have) are very expensive. Add up 4 hours of sitting, dinner, and a movie and you're talking $100...
Plei, probably you overestimate the havoc the squeak wreaks - I mean, I have attempted to ride housepets as a sober adult, so riding the cat can't be that crazy (it was a large dog, okay?). It won't work for last-minute stuff, but you might investigate whether any of the day-care teachers do moonlighting babysitting - several of ours do, and that means you have a sitter who knows your child (and her havoc) and you already trust.
I have said this to Deena a million times, but I will add flea and AmyLiz and Plei to the list of people I would be THRILLED to babysit for at any time. I just wish MM would get his ass in gear about that transporter. Then I could add him and Aimee to the list as well!
I've babysat since 6th grade, and I've had some handfuls in my day. But, whenever parents start saying they're not sure I can handle their bundle of energy, I tell them about the family I started babysitting for in 10th grade. Twin boys; three months old. A year later, they got a sister. A year after that they got a brother and a sister. And their mother asked me to buy a minivan (it was joke, but I just had hatchback, and it was difficult to transport five kids in it). I think I've changed as many diapers as a lot of mothers have. By the time the second set of twins came along, I was over there all the time, just for fun--not necessarily always for pay. Poor D needed so much help! J worked nights, so only really saw the kids on the weekends. And, that's when you can actually sleep when there are five kids in the house under 3.
Miss those guys. I should give them a call. They're so cute when they get on the phone. Specially the youngest. She doesn't remember me much, but she is a chatterbox. Shit. They're all in jr. high and high school now, I think. Craziness.
Glad Daisy Jane and SuziQ had good nights. Suzi looked AMAZING! Thanks for sharing the picture, love.
{{Moms of wee ones}} I wouldn't want to go back there. There were options and possibilities for babysitting, but I rarely had the energy to go to the trouble of setting it up.
It gets so much easier. School helps. I have a great mom network. Kids have sleepovers. My mom friends will call me and ask if I can take their kids for the night. I call them and they take mine. That is why I have managed to attend all the F2F events. My children stayed with their friends. Went to school, were fed, and homeworked.
And then before you know it they are old enough to stay by themselves. Like cutiehead Nick!
Suzi + Red = Hott
I would love to babysit for Buffista babies, too.
