Kaylee: Can I? Zoe: Sure. He's out, though. Kaylee: He did this for me, once.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

That seems very high. You might want to check with local shelters to see if they will spay for a discount. Some around here do that.

Post Toasties:

In fact, I just checked my local shelter, and they will spay cats for $10.

Mostly lurking...

I think these are the glasses I chose: [link] They're very pretty (I got them in black).

How are you me? You need to stop that. Only I can be me. ~Kara

Yeah, I think I'll look around. There is supposed to be a low-cost spay clinic around here somewhere. Right now we saw that and just... figured it would have to wait. They're not dying from their constant state of arousal and the neighbors can't hear with the windows shut.

they will spay cats for $10

Oh, wow, that's something I can afford.

BOOK: "River..? Please, why don't you come on out..." RIVER: "No. Can't. Too much hair." - 'Jaynestown'

We have to get our girl kitties spayed. IT's $250 each at the local vet. Is that outrageous? It certainly FEELS outrageous.

That sounds pretty outrageous... When The Bean got neutered back in 2002, it only cost about $90. But then again spaying is slightly more invasive of a surgery.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Not anymore, I found out! One little incicsion, less than an inch, and snip snip, spayed kitty.

This is what would have happened to Switch, anyway, had he not ended up having balls.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Ugh. I've been getting way too people-avoiding lately. Didn't go grocery shopping because I didn't want to deal with the people. Didn't go to synagogue because I didn't want to deal with the people. Didn't go to grad student seminar because -- OK, that one was actually because I forgot.

So now I'm at home, feeling guilty for not going to synagogue, feeling guilty for missing seminar, feeling annoyed at myself for not forcing myself to go places when I don't want to deal with the people like I keep saying I'm going to. And feeling hungry because really, that grocery shopping was neccessary.

(I'm starting to feel a little better now. Maybe I'll head to the grocery store in a little while. After I make some soup or something -- I've got soup mix and egg noodles and some frozen veggies -- that'll tide me over for a bit.)

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

I love when we have live bands at work. There's a bluegrass band practicing in the lobby right now!

Also, in honor of World AIDS Day you can go to www.lighttounite.org and light a candle for Bristol Myers-Squibb to donate $1 to the World AIDS fund.

Should I repost that in Press?

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

I think it's the kind of thing that could go there, DJ. We support a lot of charities and that's the place to pimp them. (Does that sound wrong or is it just me? I see charities in purple velvet hats, now.)

I have achieved soup. It's even pretty good soup, even though it's made from nothing fresh. (Sauteed frozen onions and carrots in some olive oil, added water and "soup base," then egg noodles and canellini beans.) Really, soup with egg noodles is like the greatest comfort food ever.
