And what's the fun in becoming an immortal demon if you're not regular, am I right?

Spike's Bitches 33: Weeping, crawling, blaming everybody else

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Our x-mas party is in the office on a Friday right after work this year, which is better than our usual dinner at a nice restaurant because it'll be much easier to swill a few drinks, eat some food, and get the hell out.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

P-C, is your account still active? If the notice you got was just a warning, I'd say lie low for a while.

Yeah, my account is still active. It was just a warning. I'm not going to ahem anything for a month or so, just to be safe. I know exactly why I got noticed (I doubled my active seeds and left it on overnight, and apparently NBC is cracking down these days), so I know to be more careful. Thanks.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

School question:

Next quarter there is a class that I would absolutely take except...it's being taught by someone I know and don't really care for. She is co-teaching with someone I don't know. Would you take it anyway because it's a class totally geared for you, or would you not due to the annoying professor?

I look more rad than Lutheranism

I know exactly why I got noticed (I doubled my active seeds and left it on overnight, and apparently NBC is cracking down these days)

Heh. It was NBC for me, too. And I did the same thing -- I seeded for a much longer time than I normally do. And my Official Letter explicitly talked about uploading, but not one single word about/euphemism for/reference to *down*loading. Weird.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Do you think you'd be able to take the class another term with a different teacher? Do they switch around? If so, I'd wait. If not, and it is knowledge you think you'd really benefit from, you may want to take it despite annoying professor. You can add/drop if it turns out she is not only annoying but impossible to deal with...? And the other teacher might be awesome?

Yeah, I'm leaning that way. I know this person through work, not school, and she thinks she is totally "mentoring" me. It's very annoying. I may have to push the ego aside and just take the class.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Vortex, thanks for the explanation. I had a suspicion it might be because of creating a record of some sort, but I keep hearing about cases where someone says they haven't gone near anyone, much less done anything restraint-worthy, when there's evidence they've been very busy.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Steph, my letter was the same. And the guy I spoke to from the cable company said the same thing.

It wasn't NBC that got me--it was about me sharing SG1. So I don't torrent that or SGA anymore. And I check to see what the production company is of anything I do want to torrent--but with so much availability for watching things online, I do it much much less.

I don't have a fulltime job which might have a holiday party, but I'm really looking forward to the krav one. Okay, last year sucked and I was incredibly headachey, but that just means the bar is set low.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

BYOSlurpee in the alley behind the local convenience store?

I'm thinking we may not even get the convenience store.

I'm really looking forward to the krav one. Okay, last year sucked and I was incredibly headachey, but that just means the bar is set low.

It is all about managing expectations. It has to be better than last year. Contemplating the alternative can only lead down the dark and lonely road of holiday suckage.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

And my Official Letter explicitly talked about uploading, but not one single word about/euphemism for/reference to *down*loading. Weird.

Maybe the rarional is that if you're downloading, that's just one instance of piracy. But if you upload, you are possibly aiding many people download many copies.

It makes more sense if we're just talking about, say, an ftp site. Dunno how the mathematics would work out in a torrent situation.
