Spike's Bitches 33: Weeping, crawling, blaming everybody else

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SUMI!!!!

Because books.

yet she's always been so emotionally guarded that I feel that even after all this time I barely know her

My SiL is the same way. I love her, I think she's sweet, and her sense of humor is more sly than you'd guess just looking at her, but she doesn't ever open up. Eleven years later, and we have a hard time having a conversation of more than two minutes on the phone if I don't do all the talking.

We ate the cake all up in one sitting. It was THAT good. Particularly for a grocery store bakery. A white cake with strawberry filling and whipped cream frosting. (Filled with actual strawberries. . . that's what made it so tasty.)

Now tagless for your comfort.

aaaand now I want some cake. White cake with strawberry filling and whipped topping.

Wheeeee! Someone's coming to buy the dog crate we advertised on Craigslist! I'm chalking it up to the cuteness of the model.

I'm chalking it up to the cuteness of the model.

I hope they're not disappointed when they find out the model isn't included.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

pimping her brothers to the 'bitches all the time!

Well, just Portland!Brother. Boston!Brother (now NYC!Brother) is happily married, and he and his husband are meeting with the co-op board for the place they want to buy either today or tomorrow. Between marriage to the sweetest, cutest guy on the planet, incipient NYC home ownership, working at the same place as Keith Olbermann, and just having had his own office moved to Rockefeller Plaza (walking distance from the new home if the co-op board approves him), he's pretty near thoroughly and permanently blissed-out and unlikely to be available for sister-pimpage anytime this century.

Eleven years later, and we have a hard time having a conversation of more than two minutes on the phone if I don't do all the talking.

Yes. This. And even when you know it's just that person's nature, that you yourself are not doing anything strange and off-putting, it's still frustrating. This is the partner of someone you've known and loved (and, probably, occasionally bitten, punched and practically killed) since birth, and you're nearly strangers.

Heh. Probably not. They're buying it for a new puppy and I'm sure they'll have their hands full with the cuteness. And the chewing. And the house training.

With my sisters-in-law -- I chat with one of them all the time and I don't with the other but when we do -- we chat like old friends everytime we see each other. (This makes me happy -- I have friends whose siblings married people that they don't have that easy relationship with -- makes it more difficult.)
