I just heard from my mom that my brother dodged a 345-day tour to Iraq, thanks to his CO in Norfolk, who claimed to need him here more. It's nice that his skills are in demand, but not so much when that means getting shot at. I know what I'm giving thanks for next Thursday.

I'm afraid I have to be heretical and say I think Fleuvog makes ugly shoes. But then, I am mostly missing the female shoe gene. It is enough present, though, to startle Hubby and my male friends when I pick up shoes and say, "Oh, these are neat!"
