One interesting tidbit: she worked hard to tar moderate Republicans with association to Bush. If you want to get the votes in the middle, you've got to take the middle away from the opposition.

tidbit for erika: Pelosi is originally from Charm City where her family were Democratic powerhouses. Her father and later brother were both Mayors of Balmer.
