We probably won't know the results in Virginia until next month.

Sounds familiar!

O'Malley and Cardin are claiming victory, but their opponents haven't conceded. Given the absentee ballots aren't counted until tomorrow, fair enough. But Ehrlich and Steele would have to be really, really lucky to pull it off. Really.

The loser can't ask for a recount until the election is certified, and it won't be certified until November 27.

Yes, but it will be huge if Webb is perceived as the initial winner. Perception has a way of dominating the discussion, although I suspect Allen is a big enough asshole to push the recount even if it's against him. A huge part of the problem with Florida in 2000 was that Bush managed to entrench himself as the perceived winner.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Hee! Thanks, Teppy, you saved me the trouble of looking that up.

And just in case anyone wants to read more vile and insane right-wing ranting, check out Jesus' General: [link]

I think this demostrates pretty clearly that voting should be a privilege, NOT a right.

Ah, OK. And who gets to decide who gets the privilege? Oh, right, you do...

And if you scroll down, you'll see a freakish photo of Catherine Harris.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Looks like they've avoided a recount in Montana. Of course there will be a recount in Virginia.

I'm hoping this gives the FBI lots of time to investigate the shinanigans and voter intimidation that has been reportedly coming from the Allen campaign.

I'm already laying a sheet of plastic down in the living room for Bush's press conference this afternoon. If he uses the phrase "uniter" my head will explode. I just want ONE word of concession. I want some sign that he knows that he underestimated the American people.

I thought Ken Mehlman was going to swallow his own tongue on the Today Show when he told Matt Lauer the president was "looking forward to working with Nancy Pelosi." I'll bet he is, Ken. I'll bet he is.

I'm sure the press is avoiding Cheney, since he was wielding a gun yesterday. Nobody wants to be shot in the face.

OK, this is from yesterday....

Moments ago on MSNBC, Chris Matthews asked former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (R-TX) about what he would do to “stop” the 110th Congress from investigating the misdeeds of the 109th Congress and the administration. “My only answer to that,” DeLay replied, “is make my day.”

Maybe we should take him up on that offer....

Well, maybe misunderestimated....

I admit I stole this link right out of Victor's LJ -- watch as Freepers melt down on an epic scale: [link]

t edit By "watch," I mean "read." It's NOT a link to a video or anything; just a posting board.

t edit again Be warned -- it's freaktastic right-wing paranoia at its worst. One poster said that yesterday was "the worst day since 9-11."

I'm glad I'll only be seeing that press conference through The Daily Show filter.

Heh. They are worse losers than they are winners. Who'd a thunk it?

Really? Do you have a link?
