Now tagless for your comfort.

Imagine if he were governor....

It's shit like this that makes me wake screaming at night.

you can look into the local YWCAs, because very often they will pick up from neighborhood schools, and then you pick up your child from there.

Or possibly city rec centers with programs.

He has been learning English since August, but I do not expect him to have a ton. The school is a full-integration school though and so English aid will be directly in the class with him.

Kids are so much more facile in learning languages than adults. I hope he has an easy transition.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Some more GOP shady dealings--the Maryland GOP has bused in homeless people from out of state and is using them to hand out sample ballots identifying the incumbent governor (and Repub) Steele and the Repub Senate candidate as Dems. God forbid that they be IDed as Republicans!

Compassionately intolerant

the tapes I initally got were useless and outdated

I once attempted to learn Chinese and bought a Berlitz program. I ended up taking it to the Berlitz office here (not asking for a refund, just lodging a complaint) and said, "You know what? I want to know how to say -where is the bus?, -please, I'm bleeding to death, where is the doctor's office. Instead, I get "Where is the discoteque and can I buy you a gin and tonic?" I could not BELIEVE that a general language course still featured lame pickup lines!

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

my brother has a CD and lesson book set that I think he is finding useful

That's good. Would you find a Discman useful? I think I have one stashed in a closet.

Steele is the Senate candidate. Ehrlich is the incumbent gov.

Also, if that happened? Anyone who does not know that they are Republicans (even as they did try to play the middle a little) well, lived in a cave. A really deep dark cave.

Sometimes I really think a frighteningly large number of people actually do live in (self-imposed) deep, dark caves.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Ooh! Scan it!

This is last year's, but this year's is the same. It's my icon in my journal.

Our wings are not tired.

I voted! 8 Dems and 1 Republican. I had marked my sample ballot 7/2, but changed my mind at the last moment. Now they can stop talking about it and give me the final results.
