Re: Bones
did anyone else notice that the name of the pageant hotel was The Hyperion?
Hee!
Re: Top Chef
I think that inedible food is worse than sloppy food. Oversalting is a rookie mistake. If she was panicked about the lack of flavor, why not add some spices instead of salt? Why not marinate her steak beforehand? Plus, she picked the wrong kind of steak.
It's like in Project Runway, when they say that the construction was bad, it's the kiss of death.
I think that
we were being programmed to dislike her. Her comment about the kids and the woman who wanted more sugar in the ice cream was really harsh.
Okay, I don't hate Padma as much as the other chick, and she at least has some cooking cred, but I still don't like her. There's something about her voice or the cadence or something. She talks like she's talking to a child.
So Maureen Dowd interviewed Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert for
Rolling Stone.
I haven't read the interview yet, but
Huffington Post
had this:
[Dowd:] A fake news show, "The Daily Show," spawned a fake commentator, Colbert, who makes his own fake reality defending the fake reality of a real president, and has government officials on who know the joke but are still willing to be mocked by someone fake. Your shows are like mirrors within mirrors, using a cycle of fakery to get to the truth. You've tapped into a sense in society that nothing, from reality shows to Bushworld, is real anymore. Do you guys ever get confused by your hall of mirrors?
To which Stewart fittingly responds, "I didn't know we were going to have to be high to do this interview."

It is probably a sign of my limited awakeness that I read this and thought, hmm, Japanese? So-tee-ray-do...???
I did notice that about Bones, Vortex! Hee.
I'm just watching Top Chef now, but I've seen what is in your whitefont, and agree.
Vortex, Hubby had to point it out to me. It went past my ear with a tick of familiarity, then we laughed.

flea, not just you.
it seems that plenty of wannabe YouTubers, fluent in text-speak, but less adept at typing out full words, are surfing their way over to the Universal Tube site by accident.
So, basically, UTube is suing YouTube because lots of random people are idiots? Huh.
We have even been contacted by police in Australia accusing us of having child pornography on our website.
Random people plus the Australian police, apparently.
It's like in Project Runway, when they say that the construction was bad, it's the kiss of death.
So true. I only watched the last couple eps of the first season of Top Chef so I'm only catching on to the rhythms of it now.
What is Padma's cooking cred? I don't have a strong opinion about her pro or con yet but I know her outfits? Do not belong in the kitchen! I don't care how warm the weather is. NO HOTPANTS in the kitchen!
Also after reading the TWoP recap of last week's ep that mentioned the way she emphasizes WORDS. I heard every third word she said in ASSCAPS. ha!
Maureen Dowd is so annoying. Did she not see the whole thing about how TDS has as much Actual News as the "real" news shows?

Me too!
Why am I not more alert with the changed clocks? I thought that was supposed to help!!
