I've been out of the abbey two days, I've beaten a lawman senseless, I've fallen in with criminals. I watched the captain shoot the man I swore to protect. And I'm not even sure if I think he was wrong.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I'm pretty sure "they" say rent should be around a third of your take-home.

Oh yeah. Maybe I misremembered what "they" said.

Ooh, I micounted. I pay 17% on rent. But really, I should move into a bigger place, as my place is small and I don't really have enough room for my stuff. Plus then I could get another cat.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

My rent is a little over a third of my take home paycheck (after tax and benefits and all that get taken out), and I think that's about normal for around here.

Mine's about just under a third, and comes to an even third if I count gas&electric.

Good luck, job seekers.

hip deep in pie

Also, for Buffistas who rent: approximately how much of your monthly income do you spend on rent? And how much is too much?

I pay slightly less than 20%. But rent is very cheap. If I buy, I'll likely be paying close to 50% in mortgage and other costs.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

We spend about 7% on our rent.

I think I'm inching closer to half than I'd like with parking and utilities. I need to do some budget number crunching.

I'm just now watching the Cobert Report from last night. Love the Tim Robbins-Colbert audience bit.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I have a roommate who pays rent that goes right to my mortgage, so counting only my share, I'm paying about 18% of my take-home.
