Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

A whole bunch of cool-ass costumes: [link]

I like the "Bipolar Junction Transistor" and "Spy vs. Spy." Oh, and the Crayola Box.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

The ad agency has been blogging about the campaign.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

I have a second round of interviews today for a job a notch above the one I have now. I'm not entirely sure if it's a good move, depends on the offer if they make one.

In my head I want something more prestigious than another secretarial position (which is what this is, and sometimes I feel like a loser being a 33 year old secretary), but in my heart all I want is to have a smashingly successful debut as an author and get a full time gig as a columnist somewhere and be paid to write for the rest of my life.

Pipe dream is soooo soothing.

Happy birthday, Ginger!

Also, for Buffistas who rent: approximately how much of your monthly income do you spend on rent? And how much is too much?

Now that I've had two paychecks, I'm looking at the math and not liking what I see.

Punishingly Intricate

I had a bunch of trick or treaters last night--mostly early in the evening. It was a good thing I worked from home yesterday otherwise I would have missed them all. As it was I gave out all my candy by 7:30. My favorite thing was the real little kids who were way more interested in my dog sitting on the other side of my screen door than the were in getting candy from me. SO CUTE!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I've been fine paying half of my take-home on rent, but it gets tougher the smaller the other half is. I mean, when I was paying $400/mo in rent, $800/mo in take-home wasn't really enough. Paying $1000/mo in rent, $2000/mo in take-home was fine.

I'm pretty sure "they" say rent should be around a third of your take-home.
