No. Especially if you count today. There's still a surprisingly large number of businesses that are content to run on Windows 3.11, and still stuck with the eight character limit.

Um, Windows 95 was the first Microsoft OS that supported long file names. So most college freshmen have never faced the short filename issue.

Back in those days, I couldn't afford a Mac. My first PC was a Leading Edge XT clone - I got it for $400 new because it was discontinued.

I mean, if you use Captiva ImageAccel. Parts of that application for sale today for mucho dinero will break if you try and put files in directories (remember when they were called that, and not folders?) with long file names.
I've become a lot more reticent about clicking on links (oh, the irony) since the migraines. I feel quite pacific about not having clicked on that one.
Now I feel kinda bad.
