Why don't they handicap cars like they do horses? Not all horse races are handicapped - just the handicap races but how would you do "weight for age" with cars?

Obviously, you're in the Portland races. From the guys I know who race ALMS and GrandAm, it's their least favorite track. I've never been there so I have no opinion.The open wheel guys seem to really love it and the sports guys, nsm... Not sure why that is. Maybe the width, or lack thereof.
My new favorite track has to be Miller Motorsports Park outside Salt Lake City. However, the ALMS guys didn't have as much luck there.Gorgeous track but sooooo flat. It seemed like the lack of visual clues would be odd. Fun to watch on tv though. And likely at the track as well.

Well, the idea behind "stock" cars is that the parts are all stock--everything's the same and it's a level playing field. Except for the skill of the driver. At least that's the theory, so no handicapping needed.

Considering my boss sold a project to a client that I told her would take 1 week to do and she guaranteed delivery in 3 days? I would just about take you up on that.

I did. The racing folks I deal with are all really nice, so I don't mind following racing even though I don't really appreciate the sport. (Unlike some others that I deal with.)
