Everything looks good from here... Yes. Yes, this is a fertile land, and we will thrive. We will rule over all this land, and we will call it... 'This Land.' I think we should call it 'your grave!' Ah, curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal! Ha ha HA! Mine is an evil laugh! Now die! Oh, no, God! Oh, dear God in heaven!

Happy birthday Nicole, and congrats to ND!

Today's PVP reminded me of the Buffistas.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Happy birthday, Nicole!

I have to do staff evaluations this week. Crap. Can't I just say "you're awesome!" and leave it at that? Why do I need a stupid form?

Hi, Amy!

Oh, and because I didn't earlier: congrats, ND!

Hmm, what else can I exclamation-point today? They wouldn't let Jesse exclamation-point her staff evaluations, apparently. How grammar-ically biased of them!

"Somewhere in this building is our talent." Toby Ziegler, my spirit animal

Cause the captain likes dots, Jesse. (/ The Wire likes carrots.)A rebellious cop was once shoehorned on that show into a lot of paperwork by his boss who said "And put the dots(bullet points) in it. The commander likes the dots." So that is what I think of, filling out something useless.

That's really funny. I feel like that's half of being successful with written work (for school, for your job, for whatever) -- figuring out the little tricks that the person you're submitting to will like. I had a professor in college who liked long paragraphs, so I literally just smooshed paragraphs together after I had written my paper.

Commander Burrell is like the Powerpoint King of Baltimore PD. Loves nothing like a good slideshow.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I feel like that's half of being successful with written work (for school, for your job, for whatever) -- figuring out the little tricks that the person you're submitting to will like.

This is interesting. I feel like I'm doing that all the time with one person I work for-- she's persnickety and yet inconsistent.

I had a professor in college who liked long paragraphs, so I literally just smooshed paragraphs together after I had written my paper.

Who likes long paragraphs?!

Congrats JZ and DavidS!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Matilda, Gud.

My bosses at this company before this one let me style my writing myself. This manager likes to preach against the Oxford comma, and won't approve documents until they're tweaked just so. I don't want to be sold on why the serial comma is wrong--just remind me you hate it and lets move on.
