Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

My SAT scores are easy to remember because my combined score is the same as Buffy's, and the verbal and math were the same.

I think mine were, too. The same as Buffy's, not the same as each other.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

1430

Okay that's embarrassing, because you're absolutely right. I was taking 1340 and making it 720x2. Obviously knowing how to read and add were not as important to taking the SATs as one might imagine.

Drat, now I can't remember which of my scores was higher. They were only 10 points apart, but still.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Sadly, I recently found out that umpty years later, there can be yet another round of tests.

I just found out this morning (reading a book about Tolkein and the OED) that "umpty" is a real word (albeit an obsolete one), dating back to Old English!

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Here's the story...of the dying TV theme song

Shows such as ‘Lost,’ ‘Grey's Anatomy’ are cutting straight to the plot

...

“It’s a rarity today,” TV historian Tim Brooks said of the catchy, tuneful opening. “It’s kind of like the Broadway musical producing hit songs — it just doesn’t do that anymore.”

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Obviously knowing how to read and add were not as important to taking the SATs as one might imagine.

As long as you're able to eliminate any obviously wrong answers from the start, anything can happen.

Jess, we're totally SAT twins, as well as first-part-of-name-twins!

WAIT. Are you the reason I'm all nauseous (nauseated, I know, I know) today? Because I am NOT the one having the baby!!!

I am feeling surprisingly un-urky today. So um, sorry!

(Judging by your parentheses, we are also reading-OINY-instead-of-working twins.)

True fact.

OK, I will take this one for the team, but that's it.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

If I remember correctly, the Verbal portion of the SAT was a slam-dunk for me (800, woo!), and the Math involved a lot of cursing and praying because my Calculus teacher was of the "turn my back and write problems on the white board without bothering to explain what the hell I'm doing or why."

I had the same Calculus professor in college, only he openly mocked me for asking what he considered to be stupid questions.

I liked and was good at math right up until Calculus. I blame those two guys for ruining math for me.
