Not hugging ita, but damn. That sucks. And only two weeks severance? Shit. I hope the recruiter finds you something amazing superquick!!

I'm kinda worried about my own job--the company is in trouble, and last night at a party, the wife of one of the doctors was telling me about how he was looking for a new job!! That can't be a good sign, dude.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Damn, ita. You've gotta have some really awsome karma coming to you soon.

Today I was asked to provide a written record of an "incident" that could jeopardize a co-worker's job (I found a pot stash in the bathroom). I'd kinda rather not.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Well, shit. Is this going to be another round of kick the Buffista for this month? Damn well tired of that shit.

Good luck with the job search, ita. I hope you find a better paying job closer to home.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Huh. That sucks.

Could you just be vague and non-committal on what you found, when, etc?

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

I blame shrift, really. She just took all my ex-MI mojo.

But... fuck! I mean, all I did today was find out where the good coffee was, successfully remember the code to the bathroom door, fill out forms to get paid, and try not to yawn too much while scribbling down notes.

That's not much mojo, man. There's a lot more to happiness than diuretics and W-2s, even if a mocha is a good way to start.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

Jeez, ita! That sucks. I hope Nora is right and you actually experience some relief from this. Was it effective immediately or do you have to work another week or so?

Not really. The manager who asked me to write the report knows who it belonged to and just wants to make it clear that it's not cool at work. There aren't any plans to tell the big boss unless something else happens.

Lots of job ~ma to ita. That really sucks.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Effective immediately. Walked to the door sort of stuff. With the amount of layoffs they'll probably end up doing, it's the only practical way.

Thanks again, guys. I went to krav, hit some stuff, taught some stuff, shot some shit. And then went out for sushi. Which I'm convinced I'm going to have to stop since I can't depend on being able to pay my way. Not that I was regularly paying my way, but now that I know I can't I feel like I'm shifting into the sort of "takes advantage" category sarameg talked about earlier.

Even if I'm not even the one suggesting we go out.

But hey! Sushi. And an attempt at networking.

At the very least, I'm available to substitute teach for krav a lot more.

Dammit. Cancelling my gym membership is very much the responsible thing to do...now that I have the time to actually go.

So far I've applied for one job nearby, and am definitely keeping the commute in mind, although who knows if I'll be able to be picky in the end? Or in the middle, hoping we don't get too far down the road.

Hec, can I get UI while I'm teaching krav? It's a total pittance, so it'd be a shame. But I would ask them to stop paying me if it made a difference. Since it is such a pittance, and UI less so.

And now I'm going to go watch TV. Really late. Because I CAN. Bwahahah.

Erm.
