Oh, I get it. You just don't like who did the rescuing, that's all. Wishin' I was your boyfriend what's-his-height. Oh wait, he's run off.

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

Gotcha. I had older parents too megan, particularly for the time I was born. I was born in '67, and my mom was 30 and my dad was 39. From a kid's perspective, it's not a bad deal.
1967. A very good year. My parents were 11 years apart so my mom was only 34, but it is funny how back then my mom was "so old" to be having kids. Hah!

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

A very very good year. My mom turned 28 just before I was born, and I was her 3rd kid.

What is even happening?

Did that seem old for a third child then, Chi? I was the first (and only) so it definitely felt old. I remember knowing by like kindergarten and first grade that my parents were much older than the parents of my friends.

HEC! Great pictures! Your children are both so beautiful. Will you be able to introduce Matilda to your dad?

(edited because I was the first, and sadly not so much the fist)

Thank you!

Yes, he's going to fly out for the baptism which will probably be in November, I guess. Soonish. His vision's pretty bad anymore but he can hold her and snuzzle her. And he'll be very happy to know she's baptized.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I wasn't born in 67, but my mom was 28, and I don't think that was particularly old at the time, judging from the ages of my friends' parents. What was weird was that they had been married six years before I was born (and there were no miscarriages or anything before me, they just waited).

Excellent. Babies don't look like much from far away, anyway. No offense.

Babies are definitely best appreciated at close range.

Not really. When I was in elementary school, I lived in a predominately Catholic neighborhood and most of the families had TONS of kids. We were the only protestant family in the neighborhood, but we blended in because there were a total of 5 kids in my family. My parents just seem parent age and not too old or too young.

Also (because god forbid I say more than one thing in a post), I just watched this week's GA, and liked it. That girl from Little Miss Sunshine is great. BUT I can't believe that these guys are fighting over stupid whiny inappropriate-drinking-and-whoring-around Meredith. Also, McSteamy still looks too much like the kid I used to babysit for.

I didn't know if he was up for travel. I'm sorry he won't be able to see just exactly how gorgeous Matilda is, but the rest is great to read.

My parents had been married almost six years by the time I came along too, but there had been a miscarriage and then no conception. They weren't waiting so much on purpose.

My dad was one of four boys. Only he and one brother had any children. They each only had one girl. That girl (my cousin) was not able to conceive. I was certain I was going to have trouble, and half convinced I wouldn't be able to, at all. Um no.
